Our second ice arena had its grand opening on September 6, 1989. The arena provides a complete ice facility for many youth skating programs. The principal patrons of the Valley are the Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA), the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association (GKSA), and the Killamazoo Derby Darlins. This venue has also hosted a variety of special events, such as: The Flower & Garden Show, Motorcycle Swap Meet, the Arts & Crafts Show, KOHA Early Bird Tournament, High School Hockey District Tournament, the Kalamazoo Boat Dealers Association Boat Sale and various catered parties and banquets. The Valley offers a spacious, heated viewing area overlooking the ice and includes a full-service bar and lounge which is available during operating hours.
The seating capacity is 1,367 for ice events and 2,850 for non-ice events.
